BISMARCK, N.D. (NDDES) – On Thursday, May 23, 2019, between 2:00 p.m. and 3:30 p.m., an annual statewide test of North Dakota’s AMBER (America’s Missing: Broadcast Emergency Response) Alert Plan will be conducted. All components of the AMBER Plan will be tested.

During our test of North Dakota’s AMBER Alert system, you will receive a fax and an e-mail test message. We have received a waiver from the FCC, which will allow us to send an Emergency Alert System (EAS) message using the Child Abduction Emergency live code: CAE.

If you have questions, please contact North Dakota Department of Emergency Services representative Eric Upton at (701) 328-8100 or eupton@nd.gov.

EAS will be activated from the State Emergency Operations Center using the Integrated Public Alert and Warning System (IPAWS) sometime between 2:00 p.m. and 3:30 p.m.
