BISMARCK, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Century Patriots baseball team made quick work of the Jamestown Blue Jays in the opening round of the West Region baseball tournament, taking the quarterfinal match-up 8-0 behind a great start from Cade Feeney.
He struck out 10 Jamestown hitters over six shutout innings.
The Jays had their best chance to score against Feeney in the first. Following a pair of singles from Chris Erickson and Ryder Lunzman, they had first and third with two outs. Feeney was able to strike out Kohl Kratz to end the inning.
Century broke it open in the second on a Feeney bases clearing double to run the lead to 6-0.
Jamestown will play Minot on Friday in a loser-out game. The tournament is set begin at 11am from Legacy High with the first loser-out between Legacy and Bismarck. If the weather holds out, the Jays will play around 1pm.
Otherwise the game may get moved to Shiloh for a evening start.
