Deputy Auditor Jay Sveum later came before the council to inform them of the process that was completed in the search for a new City Forrester. Sveum said he, City Administrator Sarah Hellekson, and Councilmember Steve Brubakken conducted the interviews.
If he accepts, Erik Laber will be filling the position left open by previous City Forrester Sherri Steckler. Sveum stated that they were very excited about Laber’s potential as the next City Forrester.
The Pingree-Buchanan native says he considers himself a local and looks forward to making a difference in Jamestown. The city unanimously approved of the hire.
In the closing minutes of the meeting, Mayor Dwaine Heinrich addressed the upcoming Jamestown Citywide Cleanup May 13th through the 16th.
Heinrich says it has done the opposite and continues to grow in the community. He encourages residents to learn what can and can’t be picked up on that day.
