CASS COUNTY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) –  The Cass County Sheriffs office is warning of a homeless scam in the area.  According to a news release, the sheriffs department is calling it “Operation Homeless”.

The scam involves suspects targeting homeless individuals who have valid identification. The suspects convince homeless individuals to cash stolen counterfeit checks in exchange for a portion of the money. The Cass County Sheriff’s Office did take a report from a rural Cass County Bank regarding this type of activity.
