JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Jamestown High School Students spent their Wednesday in various non-profits, government agencies, organizations and more for the annual Day of Service.

High School Principal Adam Gehlhar states that they believe service plays an essential role in the education of children and future citizens.

Some places students volunteered included Orphan Grain Train, Prairie Paws Rescue, Fort Seward, TRAC, Camp Rokiwan, Ave Maria, Salvation Army, Eventide, and more.

Junior Cati Suckow says they were helping the Frontier Village for their service project.

Junior Amaya Mielke says she enjoyed volunteering with all her friends.

Suckow agreed with Mielke on giving back.

Working in the colder temps and rain, Mielke said she learned to plan in advance for inclement weather. She says going into it with a bad attitude would make for a poor experience.

Students wrapped up the day volunteering at 2 PM. Read more about the Day of Service here.
