JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Residents of Stutsman County are encouraged to sign up for the free emergency alert system in the event of a severe storm.
Stutsman Alerts Powered by Everbridge is a location based notification system that will contact individuals through email, calls, texts, and more when an emergency or incident occurs.
The service can alert residents based on their address within all of Stutsman County.
Stutsman County Emergency Manager Jerry Bergquist says they encourage anyone within the county sign up for the alert system.
Bergquist says the warnings are initiated by the National Weather Service and the alert system goes through Stutsman County. By opting to use the service, you can be informed about issues and events that could affect your safety and the safety of your family.
Bergquist pointed out that you can specify what warnings you want to receive and the times you want to receive them.
Bergquist says all you need to register is a computer. If you don’t have one or have access to one, you can contact the office and they’ll help you sign up.
Everbridge replaced the CodeRED system in 2019. If you signed up for CodeRed, but not for Everbridge, you must register again for the free service.
