VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Operation Prom Night will be held Wednesday, May 1st in the 400 block of Central Avenue North in front of the Valley City High School.
Several students will be participating in the mock prom crash sending a serious message about the dangers of drinking alcohol and driving.
Valley City Fire Chief Scott Magnuson encourages the public to attend this event to see how law enforcement and rescue crews handle drunk driving crashes.
9-1-1 dispatchers will send out the Everbridge notification just before the 1:30pm simulated crash on registered cellphones and other electronic devices just like it was a real disaster.
Valley City residents will hear a lot of sirens going off about 1:30pm on Wednesday ahead of the mock crash.
Central Avenue will be blocked off from 6th Street North Wednesday, May 1st for the Mock Crash until about 3pm.
Members from the Valley City Police Department, Barnes County Sheriff’s Office, Valley City Rural Fire & Rescue Squad and Barnes County Ambulance Emergency Medical Services and 9-1-1 Dispatchers will be conducting the mock prom crash.
