VALLEY CITY, ND. (NewsDakota.com) – Valley City scored fours in the in first, seven in second and ten in the third on the way to a season high 21 runs in a 21-1 win over Grand Forks Central in Eastern Dakota Conference softball match up on a cold and wet day at Tharaldson Field.

The Hi-Liners scored four runs in the first on three hits. Grace Scherr reached on a hit, then eventually came around to score on a passed ball. Eliza Johnson and Becca Thompson would score on an error and courtesy runner Ericka Anderson scored on a wild pitch.

Valley City would plate seven runs in the second inning on only two hits. They would put the game away with 10 runs in the third inning with Sam Ranisate getting the big knock, a two run home run. She would add an rbi single later in the inning. Jessie Undem had a two-run double in the inning as well.

Ranisate had three hits and drove in three runs. Erin Anderson had two hits. Jessie Undem drove in four runs and Hailey Schaefer drove in three.

Schaefer got the win in the circle going five innings.She allowed four hits, one earned run with a walk and 11 strikeouts.

Valley City improves to 6-4 in the EDC and 7-6 overall.
