CASSELTON, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – An early morning fire has destroyed Gordy’s Service Center in Casselton. Fire officials say that there was no one in the business when the fire was reported at just before 5:30 am. The building that burned was next to Gordy’s convenience store and restaurant. The convenience store was not affected by the fire and remains open for business.
Casselton Fire Chief Tim McClain says the building was fully engulfed when fire crews arrived. There was one firefighter injured, but he was hurt at the firehouse when he tripped and fell getting ready to go to the fire. He was taken to a Fargo hospital and treated for non-life threatening injuries.
Fire departments from Casselton, Mapleton, Buffalo, and West Fargo responded to the fire. The cause is under investigation.
