OAKES, N.D. (NEWSDAKOTA.COM) – For the third time this season Kindred-Richland defeated the Oakes Tornadoes Monday night in five innings. It was the second time in the season series that the Vikings won via the ten run rule.

The Vikings scored 11 straight runs to close the game out in five innings and win 11-1. Kindred-Richland is now 6-3-1 while Oakes drops below .500 at 4-5.

Oakes jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the first inning thanks to an RBI double from Connor Schall. That was the extent of the Oakes offense.

Kindred-Richland’s Atley Ingebrigtson pitched all five innings and allowed just the one run. Ingebrigtson wasn’t flawless as he allowed multiple base runners in four of the five innings, but allowed just one of ten baserunners to score.

Ingebrigtson was handed more than enough run support as the Vikings as they scored in four of the five innings. The offensive outpour was capped off by a five run fifth inning to reach the ten run advantage. The catalyst was Trenton Duchscherer going 4-4 with two runs driven in.

The next time out for Oakes will be Tuesday night against Central Cass.
