JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Jamestown Public Works Committee gave their approval of the summer watermain project in Jamestown.
Ben Aaseth with Interstate Engineering says they just needed the specs to be approved by the city before bidding out the project.
Aaseth pointed out that the projects take place in the north part of Jamestown, but in different areas.
Overall, the project is estimated to cost a total of $1.1 million with no contingencies. Aaseth says they’ll look to advertise in May with bidding at the end of that month and awarding the bid in June.
In other news, City Administrator Sarah Hellekson stated that they were looking to find a use for the old, green garbage containers.
The committee will explore the option of allowing city residents to use the containers how they see fit. However, they will not be allowed for garbage or recycling collection.
