DEVILS LAKE, N.D. (NewsDakota.com)- Everything went right for The Hi-Liners Thursday night in Devils Lake. Behind Hailey Schaefer’s 1 hit performance and 13 hits, Valley City blew past The Firebirds 11-0 in 5 innings for their first EDC win of the year.

Schaefer struck out 9 in the complete game performance, she did not surrender a hit until the final inning. Devils Lake only other baserunner reached in the first on an error.

The offense broke the game open with 6 runs in the 2nd. Eliza Schueneman hit a triple and Jesse Undem a home run, both ended the game with 3 RBI. Becca Thompson was 2 for 3 with an 2 RBI and Grace Scherr had a 3 for 4 night.

With the 2 point win, Valley City is 2-2 in The EDC and 3-3 overall, Tuesday they host West Fargo.
