MINNEAPOLIS, MN (NewsDakota) – i3G Media station KDDR-AM 1220/95.9 FM ‘The Tornado’ in Oakes was honored again Saturday night in Minneapolis as part of the Midwest Broadcast Journalists Association’s Eric Sevareid Awards.

KDDR earned a First Place honor in the Small Market Radio Sportscast/Program category for the August 1, 2018 sportscast; the day after the LaMoure Babe Ruth baseball team claimed the North Dakota State Championship.

An Award of Merit was also presented in the Small Market Radio Sports Play-By-Play category for the call of Oakes High School’s victory in the second round of the Class 9-Man Football playoffs at Richland on October 20, 2018.

KDDR has now been awarded a total of 11 Sevareid Awards since 2014, with four First Place recognitions and seven Awards of Merit; all for work in sports broadcasting.
