JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Jamestown Salvation Army is falling behind in providing needed services to the community.
Relying on fundraising such as the Red Kettle Campaign has left the local non-profit struggling to help as many individuals in need as they’d like. Major Tim Nauta says their biggest fundraiser of the year left them quite short of what they needed to serve the area properly.
Major Nauta says the local Salvation Army relies solely on donations, churches and funds raised at their thrift store in Jamestown.
Right now, Major Nauta says they’re forced to turn away some of those who reach out to them. Ways that individuals can help is by donating to the Salvation Army or shopping at the thrift shop.
Major Nauta says the goal is to continue helping people as much as they can while trying to make up for losses in their campaign and thrift store sales.
