VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Barnes County Emergency Manager Sue Maresh Lloyd said the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration and the National Weather Service handed some good news to the city of Valley City.

In their report it says due to the perfect snow melt over the last three weeks there will be no moderate or major flooding for the city in the spring of 2019.

The report adds, that due to perfect thaw conditions the Sheyenne River flushed water downstream at a measured rate.

The Sheyenne River in Valley City was at 9.33 feet on Sunday, April 7th. The pool level at Lake Ashtabula was rising at 1264.70 feet on April 8th. The outflow at Baldhill Dam was 1,447 cfs on April 8th.
