JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Stutsman County Road Superintendent Mickey Nenow says all county roads have had restrictions put in place for the Spring.
Nenow informed the Stutsman County Commission Tuesday night of the signs put up by crews. He says the information is on the Stutsman County Website.
“It’s updated on there whenever we do make a change. We called all the elevators and warned them all before we put the restrictions on,” Nenow pointed out.
Nenow also reports that crack sealing in the county has started and their also preparing for overtime when it come time to blade county roads.
Commissioner Dave Schwartz stated that due to the Spring, blading would be necessary.
County Auditor Nicole Meland stated there was space in the budget for overtime.
Meland says there was extra snow expenses for hiring an extra cat and operator for snow on roadways, but there should be enough for overtime crews to blade county roads.
Nenow also pointed out that some culverts in the county had been plugged due to the snow. He says there is some water on roads in parts of the county.
Nenow says some of the townships had water across the road and signs have been put up, but other than that, there hasn’t been too many other issues.
Park Superintendent Karl Bergh later updated the commissioners during the Park Board meeting on their ongoing preparations for the upcoming summer. He says they’ve been putting in reservations for the county campgrounds.
Bergh says after failing to get a grant, they’re looking at possibly buying new buoys and rope at the swimming areas near Pelican Point and Lakeside Marina.
