Amy Elizabeth (Schlecht) Carlson, 41, Edgeley, ND died Monday, April 1st, 2019 at the Jamestown Regional Medical Center.
Amy was born on November 20, 1977 in Ellendale, the daughter of Roy and Betty (Rithmiller) Schlecht. She attended and graduated from Kulm Public School in 1996.
Amy married her high school sweetheart, Dustin “Dusty” Carlson on April 10th, 1999, and had two children; Dylan, an 8th grader at Edgeley Public School and Damian, a 6th grader at Edgeley Public School.
Over the years, Amy worked at several banks in Jamestown, then onto CHS in Edgeley, and most recently, Allied Energy in Edgeley. She took her jobs very seriously and was a diligent employee. Her co-workers became her friends and meant a lot to her.
Amy loved to travel with her family and friends. She especially enjoyed vacationing in Mexico. Tending to her garden and plants, spending time at the lake and enjoying sunsets were some of her favorite past times. She had a love for animals and attending craft shows with her sister.
Above all, Amy loved spending time with her “three boys.” Motherhood brought her immense joy. She spent countless hours cheering her sons on in football, basketball, archery and baseball. She will always be their #1 fan!
Amy fought a courageous battle, and she lived by the motto, “Walk in Faith, day by day.” She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Amy is survived by her husband, Dusty, her two sons; Dylan and Damian of Edgeley, sister Julie (Jerome) Goebel, Wishek, ND; brother Tom Schlecht of Jamestown, ND; brother, Morgan (Valerie) Schlecht of Watertown, SD; brother and sister in law, David and Mary Beth Carlson of Edgeley, ND, and parents-in-law, Don and Karen Carlson of Edgeley, ND. She is also survived by her nieces and nephews: Dustin and Jaeden Brandner; Avarie, Dominic and Sydney Carlson; Leandra, Christopher, Michaela and Kendra Schlecht, and numerous friends and relatives.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Betty Schlecht.
The family prefers memorials to Amy’s sons’ educational fund, set up at Heartland State Bank of Edgeley, ND.
Memorial Service: 10:00 AM, Thursday, April 4, 2019 at Transfiguration Church, Edgeley, with Pastor Robert Forbes officiating.
Burial: Mount Hope Cemetery, Edgeley, North Dakota.
