VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Jennifer Cabezas is encouraging people to learn more about the autism spectrum during International Autism Awareness Day on Tuesday, April 2nd.
The Valley City woman has two boys with autism and is happy that the 2019 North Dakota Legislature passed a law that will allow those with autism to use medical marijuana if prescribed by a doctor. Cabezas hopes this will help her son’s and other family members across the state who may benefit from the use of this herbal remedy.
The bill has to be signed by Governor Burgum before it becomes law on August 1st.
The complete interview with Cabezas is available right here with reporter Steve Urness.
Cabezas said everyone should light up their homes and businesses with blue lights to spread acceptance and understanding of autism on Tuesday April 2nd. She said hundreds of thousands of landmarks around the world will light up in blue and encourage people to wear blue to support those with autism.
