ENDERLIN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com)- The defending Region 1 champion Enderlin/Maple Valley Falcons will open their season nearly 2,000 miles south of Hendrickson Field with 5 games in Cocoa Beach, Florida.
EMV started practice earlier this month and much like in years past have spent most of their time indoors. Head coach Kevin Bratland says the time inside is beneficial to individual development knowing at some point they will outgrow the gym
With the exception of 2 seniors, Dustin Kosowski and Nathan Amerman, a majority of last year’s state team will return. On the roster will be 6 seniors and 7 juniors. For Bratland, the experience gives The Falcons a leg up but when you’re in Region 1 nothing can be assumed
Playing in Florida days ahead of the start of the North Dakota season puts EMV in live game situations without having any bearing on their position in the region standings
In their out of state trip last season they went 2-2. Thursday morning is travel day, games will be Friday, Saturday and Monday starting with Perrysburg, Ohio and St. Charles North from Illinois.
