CARRINGTON, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) For the first time in school history, the Cardinals of Carrington just completed their first archery season as the state tourney wrapped up in Minot on March 22nd and 23rd. The Carrington program had roughly 50 kids competing in grades five through 12. Co-Coaches Greg Hoeckle and Karla Michaelson helped the archers throughout the season compete in local tournaments around the area including New Rockford, Gackle, Medina, Pingree and other locations.

Coach Hoeckle said that archery is challenging and offers a lot of competition from around the state of North Dakota:

 

Hoeckle also stated the number of competitors keeps growing and is becoming a very popular sport:

Coach Hoeckle hopes to continue to grow the program and possibly open it up for fourth graders as well, the 2019-20 season will start before Christmas sometime.
