CARRINGTON, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Crews have spent the past few weeks knocking down the old Carrington Elementary School.
Carrington Superintendent Brian Duchscherer reports that most of the building has been razed, but they will wait until spring thaw to finish up.
Duchsherer says they’ve been approached about residents obtaining bricks from the old building.
As far as the other district’s facilities, Duchscherer says they met with contractors and viewed all the classrooms and hallways. He says from there, they found some minor things that need to be corrected.
Once all the minor improvements are completed, it should signal the end of construction on the new elementary school.
Duchscherer also reports that the Department of Public Instruction named Carrington High School in the top 10 percent of all High Schools in the state for being choice ready.
