VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The annual meeting of the Sheyenne River Valley Chapter of the North Country Trail Association was held at the Rosebud Visitor Center. Several awards were presented at their regular business meeting for the organization on January 19th.

Deb Koepplin presented the Chapter Honor Award to Catherine Albert of Galesburg, North Dakota. This honor is awarded annually to an individual who demonstrates loyalty, commitment and hard work annually to the local organization’s chosen activities. Cat has been a hard-working member of the chapter, taking part in workdays, hikes and also serving as a member of the Chapter Board of Directors.

Tom Dahle, chapter member from Bismarck, was also in attendance and presented members Cat Albert and Jerry Warner with handmade land yards with various patches attached and a beautiful card. These special awards were given in honor of the considerable time and talents shared in building and maintaining the trail and spreading the word about the North Country Trail.

The North Country National Scenic Trail stretches 4,600 miles across seven northern states. From Lake Sakakawea, North Dakota to Crown Point, New York, the trail connects North Dakota, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Michigan, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and New York.
