JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Mr. Basketball finalists were announced Wednesday night and no surprise that state champion big-man Mason Walters among the six names listed.

Walters finished with 21.1 points per game and 11.7 rebounds per game and lead the Jays to a perfect 27-0 record. He only played 27 minutes a game since Jamestown was blowing teams out most of the year, only four games decided by single-digits.

That accounts to 4.5 games on the sideline in lopsided games, he only had one half of foul trouble all season and that was at Minot.
In the state tournament, Walters was “a man amongst boys,” averaging 18 points, 18 rebounds and four blocks, including a mind-boggling 24 rebounds against Wahpeton.
The complete list includes:

  • Dalton Albrecht, Grafton
  • Ben Bohl, Bishop Ryan
  • Luke Lennon, West Fargo
  • Treyton Mattern, Bismarck Century
  • Braeton Motschenbacher, Fargo Davies
  • Mason Walters, Jamestown

The winner will be announced on WDAY-TV following the Class B state championship on Saturday night.
