BISMARCK, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The North Dakota Game & Fish is reminding area residents that permanent ice houses will need to be removed from state waters by Friday, March 15th.
Anglers have until midnight to remove the ice houses from any state wildlife management area or federal refuge land.
Game & Fish Wildlife Biologist Doug Leier says due to the continued winter conditions, getting ice houses removed may be a bit difficult.
Leier says even with the removal date approaching, they’re still encouraging anglers to get as much as they can out of the ice fishing season.
The 15th also signals the end of the North Dakota spearfishing season. He says you can also start buying your new licenses that day including sportsman license, general game, and small game all become available March 15th.
You can listen to Doug Leier chat the outdoors with JD on Big Dog Country 95.5 FM every Thursday at 7:20 AM.
