JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The University of Jamestown prides itself on the Character in Leadership (CIL) program, which provides students information and practice on servant leadership.
Students are invited to apply for the CIL program when registering for the University their Freshman year. It has since expanded into a Masters program.
As part of CIL, students participate in yearly service projects.

Student Ryan Haahr says they’re calling upon the community to help them complete their book drive.

Haahr says his group met with their professor and formulated different ideas. He says book drive for children of incarcerated individuals was one of those needs not necessarily thought about.
Jenna Windjue is part of another group and says they’re holding a supply drive for teachers and students in the area.

Haahr says he encourages potential students at the University of consider the CIL program. He says he’s taking a lot away from it.

Windjue pointed out the program has already helped her develop her leadership style.
