JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The City of Jamestown has agreed to pay its share of the requested money from the JSDC Economic Development Funds to pay SBDC dues.
South Central Dakota Regional Council has requested the dues from both Stutsman County and city of Jamestown through the Jamestown Stutsman Development Corporation (JSDC). In February, the JSDC Board recommended both entities pay their share of the dues.

The city’s share of the request $17,534 is $11,045. The rest is requested from the Stutsman County Commission. Councilmember Dan Buchanan agreed with Councilmember Brubakken.
Brubakken says the city should recommend the money go directly to the SBDC. Corry Shevlin with the JSDC says the board has approved to give the money to the SBDC dependent on if it’s approved by the city and county.
The council unanimously passed the item.
City Council members also shared their experiences at Celebrate Cities Day through the North Dakota League of Cities. Councilmember Pam Phillips stated that they met with legislators on Friday, March 1st.
