JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – With spring break around the corner, University of Jamestown seniors will be entering the final weeks of college before graduation.
The Career Center at the University focuses on the “Look Forward” aspect of the Journey to Success. They work with students one-on-one, in groups, as well as Senior Capstone courses to ensure they’re prepared for their next steps. Heidi Larson, Director of Career Services & Experiential Education, says they encourage students as soon as their first day of Freshman year to begin looking at items such as Internships.

Larson says another thing they provide for students are practice interviews to prepare a student for job hunting after graduation.

When it comes to graduating, Larson says they understand there are a lot of different avenues students need to consider from graduate schools to job applications.

Larson says their services don’t stop once graduation comes around. She says they have a lot of tools and resources to help alumni in their career field.
The University also specializes in alumni relations and programming such as the alumni networking events. Larson says the Career Center collaborates with the Alumni Department to host networking socials for graduates and UJ alumni to network.

Events are planned in Fargo, Bismarck, Jamestown, and the Twin Cities. For more information, contact the UJ Career Center at careers@uj.edu or call 701-252-3467.
