WEST FARGO, N.D. (NewsDakota.com)- On Saturday, February 23 the Valley City High School Hi-Liner Speech team traveled to the West Fargo Sheyenne Mustang Mane Speech Invitational. Out of a field of 9 Class A and Class B teams the Hi-Liners placed first as a team with 229 sweepstakes points ahead of 2nd place Devils Lake (58 points) and Fargo Shanley (51 points).
We advanced 39 entries to the final round and picked up 3 new state qualifiers to the 2019 State Class A Speech Tournament in Jamestown on April 13th. We also had  We had two students final (top 8) for the first time: MJ Lorenz in Serious Prose and Isaac Abrahamson in his Humorous Duo with Benjamin Kruta.
