VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Volunteers were busy making one of the largest sub sandwiches to raise money for the Barnes County United Way.
Local United Way spokeswoman Jonelle Kruger said it’s one of their biggest annual fundraisers as volunteers made and delivered sandwiches to area businesses who ordered food to help the United Way.
Kruger said this year, they sold a total of 1,442 inches of that large sandwich. She thanked all the volunteers and businesses who participated in the February 26th event held at Leevers North in Valley City.
Kruger said there’s a strong negative connotation that the money raised by United Way isn’t used to benefit local agencies or people. She said that is false. Below is a list of agencies that the money raised locally helps thanks to the Barnes County United Way.
