BISMARCK, N.D. (Newsdakota.com) – Bismarck Century scored three goals in a span of 75 seconds in the first period, on the way to a five goal first period and an 11-2 win over Jamestown in West Region hockey Thursday night in Bismarck.
Jamestown would tally two second period goals, both by Tommy Falk, to close the gap to 6-2 heading into the final period.
But Century came out of the locker room and added two more goals in the first 2:08 of the final period to open up an 8-2 lead.
Nicholas Brown had three goals for the Patriots. Colton Schulte had two goals and an assist for the Patriots while Eli Reimer had a goal and two assists. Paydin Slette added four assists.
The Jays were efficient on offense. They scored their two goals on nine shots. Riley Gerhardt made 65 saves for the Blue Jays. Its the first time a Blue Jays goaltender made over 60 saves since Tygh Yatskis stopped 62 shots against West Fargo in 2010.
Jamestown is 6-11-1 on the season and 6-5-1 in the West Region. They will host Mandan for Senior Night on Tuesday at John L. Wilson Arena.
