BISMARCK, N.D. (PrairiePublic) – The House has passed the bill to do away with the state’s remaining blue law.
That law keeps many retail businesses closed until noon on Sunday.
Fargo Representative Shannon Roers-Jones is the bill’s sponsor.
But Bismarck Representative Vernon Laning argued people need a day of rest, which came from God’s commandments.
The measure passed 56 to 35. It will now be considered in the Senate.
