KULM, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – LaMoure/Litchville-Marion used a 21-4 run to end the second quarter to open up an 18 point halftime lead on the way to a 59-27 win over Edgeley-Kulm-Montpelier in a Region 3, District 5 matchup.
After the Rebels scored the first two points of the second quarter to close the gap to 11-10, the Loboes would score the next seven points to start the decisive run to end the first half up 32-14.
Ellie Holen scored all 12 of her points in the first half. She would not score in the second half because she took over point guard duties when starting point guard Rachel Hoff went down with a knee injury in the first half and never returned.
That’s when the LLM bench took over. The Loboes’ bench outscored the Rebels’ bench 24-4. Molly Musland scored a game high 16 points, 10 coming in the second half. She also had five assists and two steals. Alyssa Ragan came off the bench to score five points but had a game high eight rebounds. Olivia Bliss was in double figures with 12 points and Kaylynn Siedschlag had three 3-pointers for nine points.
The Rebels were led by Jocie Madcke with 10 points. Maren Berntson had nine points and a team high six rebounds.
The eighth ranked Loboes improve to 13-1 overall with their sixth win in a row. They are 4-0 in Region 3 and will play seventh ranked Kindred Saturday at Harold Newman Arena in Jamestown. Edgeley-Kulm-Montpelier had a four game winning streak snapped and fell to 8-6 overall and 2-3 in Region 3.They host tenth ranked Linton/HMB next Tuesday night.
