VALLEY CITY, N.D. (VCSUVikings.com)- Valley City State University sophomore high jumper Alex Otto has been named a North Star Athletic Association Track & Field Athlete of the week. Otto earned the Field Athlete of the Week honor after clearing a season-best 1.94 meters (6 feet, 4.25 inches) at the NDSU Thundering Herd Classic. It is the top performance in the NSAA so far this season by 7 inches.
The North Star Athletic Association (NSAA) conference announced its first installment of the Men’s Indoor Track & Field Athletes-of-the-Week honors Tuesday. Alex Otto of Valley City State (N.D.) was selected as the Field Athlete-of-the-Week. Braden Curnow of Dakota State (S.D.) was named to the Track Athlete-of-the-Week.

Alex Otto – Valley City State (N.D.) – Sophomore – Pekin, N.D. – Otto cleared a conference-leading 1.94 meters (6 feet, 4.25 inches) as he placed fourth in the men’s high jump at the NCAA Division I meet North Dakota State Thundering Herd Classic for Valley City State (N.D.). He placed fourth in the event. Otto is currently 27th on the NAIA performance list in the men’s high jump. His mark was just .05 meters off for the NAIA national qualifying.
