JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The James River Valley Library System is reintroducing their “Food for Fines” program this winter.
The food and toiletry drive kicked off January 2nd and will continue through January 31st. Assistant Library Director Jennifer Senger says the drive will help clear overdue fines while also raising needed donations for local food pantries.
“Just bring in a non-perishable food or toiletry item to any branch of the James River Valley Library System during the month of January, and we will forgive your overdue fines,” Senger said. “It’s that easy.”
The library will not forgive lost or damaged items, only overdue fines for materials that have been returned late.
“All donations will be given to the local food pantries,” Senger pointed out.
