JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Jamestown Police Department and Jamestown Fire Department are going head to head in the 4th Annual Battle of the Badges Blood Drive.
Through Saturday, both department’s will be asking donors to vote for either team and donate much needed blood. Weldon Roberts with Vitalant, formerly United Blood Services, says in the Dakota’s region, there is a high need for blood donations.
During the Battle of the Badges, both the Jamestown Police Department and Jamestown Fire Department have fun while also getting individuals to donate. Lt. Sheldon Mohr with Jamestown Fire says that’s what it’s about.
Jamestown Police Chief Scott Edinger says in their work, they see the need for blood donations every day.
“They can come in and choose Team Law, that’s their choice,” Chief Edinger joked.
Roberts pointed out that if a person hasn’t donated before, this is a great opportunity to see if you can.
The Battle of the Badges continues Friday and Saturday in the Exchequer Room at the Jamestown Civic Center.
