HASTINGS, Neb (JimmieAthletics.com) – Jon Purintun (SR/Linton, ND)’s 27 points led four Jimmies in double figures, and the University of Jamestown men’s basketball team defeated Hastings (Neb.) College on the road Wednesday night by a final score of 90-80.

HOW IT HAPPENED
*Jamestown connected on eight three-point attempts in the first half and took a slim 43-41 lead into the second half.
*The Jimmies led by as many as seven after overcoming a two-point Hastings lead (28-26) at the 5:50 mark.
*A 12-2 run to open the second half put UJ ahead by 12 (55-43) with 16:31 to play.
*After Hastings got within nine points, 68-59, at the 10:07 mark, Jamestown reeled off 14 of the next 20 points to stretch the lead to 17.
*Jamestown scored its final five points at the free throw line to close out the game.

FOR UJ
*Purintun posted his 10th game with 20 or more points this season. He also finished with seven rebounds and three assists.
*Kevin Oberweiser (SR/Drummond, MT) had a double-double of 14 points and 10 rebounds, while dishing out seven assists.
*Terrell Alfred (JR/Orlando, FL) came off the bench to finish with 14 points and seven rebounds. Jack Talley (SO/Sioux Falls, SD) was also in double figures with 13 points.
*UJ outrebounded Hastings 47-34, including 13-3 on the offensive glass.

FOR HC
*Five Broncos finished in double figures, led by Brendan Lipovsky’s 17. Lipovsky finished with a double-double (11 rebounds).
*Zach Kitten and Ben Wahlberg came off the bench to add 14 points each.
*The Broncos were 21-of-24 at the foul line but connected on just 7-of-25 three-point attempts.
*Hastings had their three-game winning streak snapped.
