GRAND FORKS, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – A Winter Storm Warning is in effect now through Friday for the Dakotas and Minnesota.

Grand Forks National Weather Service forecaster Greg Gust said the first round delivered 5 to 6 inches in Valley City area with more on the way.

Total snowfall amounts for Valley City over a two day period about 10 to 12 inches. For Fargo and Wahpeton their two day total may be 14 to 18 inches.

He said wind gusts of 40 mph or more are making travel conditions difficult in the open country.
