KULM, N.D. (NewsDakota.com)- The Tornadoes girls basketball team will head into Christmas break with a two game winning streak and a 6-2 record after their 52-36 win at Edgeley/Kulm/Montpelier.
Midway through the 3rd quarter, Oakes’ Sadie Hansen and Nicole Schmitz collided when they were diving after a loose ball. The collision forced Hansen out of the game.
Coach Brennan Hack called this game the most physical game they’ve been involved in this year and he was proud of his team’s response to the physicality and after the Hansen’s injury occurred.
With the absence of Hansen down the stretch, Jaida Seyer stepped up and finished with 17 points (season and game highs). Nicole Schmitz stayed in the game after the collision and finished her night with 14 points.
The Tornadoes are off until January 4th when they take on Barnes County North.
