VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Two rare and valuable coins were dropped into a Barnes County Salvation Army Red Kettle this month in Valley City. The silver dollars were minted in 1881 and in 1889. They are valued at $100 apiece.

Barnes County Salvation Army Red Kettle Campaign coordinator Lee Isensee said we are truly blessed to have so many generous people helping fill the needs of so many others in our county.

Meanwhile, the Quilted Ceiling of Valley City is going to help the Barnes County Salvation Army on Saturday, December 22. The local business decided to donate a full day of retail sales to the local chapter.

Barnes County Salvation Army Coordinator Lee Isensee said it’s the first time a local business has donated one entire day of sales to help the Red Kettle Campaign and we are truly thankful.

The Barnes County Salvation Army Red Kettle Campaign wraps up on Monday, December 24 in Valley City. Bell ringers are stationed at Leevers North and South and at Shopko in Valley City.
