VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – School safety is on everyone’s mind following several school shootings and other acts of violence in schools across the country.

That’s why the Valley City Public School District set up a safety committee. Here’s Superintendent Josh Johnson.

More than 50 people attended a school safety forum in Valley City back in August of 2018. At that forum, North Dakota United President Nick Achuleta said a majority of teachers surveyed don’t believe it’s a good idea to arm teachers in the classroom.

Johnson said most teachers support active shooter drills and other safety measures that the Valley City Public School District has implemented.
