JAMESTOWN, N.D.(NewsDakota.com) – The Aberdeen Cougars scored three goals 1:57 apart in the first period and never looked back on the way to a 7-1 win over Jamestown Tuesday night in girl’s hockey at John L. Wilson Arena.

Kaitlyn Holland got the scoring going with her 18th of the season 5 minutes and six seconds into the first period. Linemate Kensi Eckhoff scored her 18th goal of the season 19 seconds later. Haiden Stoltenberg scored her second of the season 1 minute and 38 seconds after that to make it 3-0 after one period. The Cougars out shot the Jays 15-4 in the first 17 minutes.

In the second period, Kaitlyn and sister Hailey Holland each netted goals to make it 5-0 heading into the final period.

Hailey Holland completed the natural hat trick by scoring 44 seconds into the third and again at the 9 minute and 27 second mark. Along with her three goals Hailey had two assists. Kaitlyn Holland added two assists to her two goals and Kensi Eckhoff had four assists and one goal.

Ella Roaldson’s power play goal with 4:12 to play in the game kept the Jays from getting blanked. It was her team leading fifth of the season and it was only the second power play goal Aberdeen has given up in 24 chances this year.

Erin Anderson had 30 saves for the Jays who fall to 1-5-1. Shelby Snow had 15 saves for Aberdeen. The Cougars improve to 10-0-0 on the season, 3-0 against North Dakota opponents.
