WEST FARGO, N.D. (NewsDakota.com)- They were two different type of games but the result was ultimately the same for both Hi-Liner basketball teams Friday night in West Fargo. The Packer took both sides of a doubleheader from Valley City; the boys won 101-57 while the girls used a big 2nd half to win 68-58.

The Hi-Liner boys play again Tuesday at home hosting Devils Lake. The girls turn around and play again Saturday at Fargo South. Tip off is set for 3:15, the game can be heard on KOVC 1490 AM/96.3 FM and NewsDakota.com 

BBB: West Fargo 101  vs. Valley City 57

For the first 7 minutes of the game, Valley City hung with West Fargo. They held 2 leads before the score would be tied at 7. The Packers broke the tie to take the lead for good, they would not let The Hi-Liners get any closer than 25-20.

Mitchel Taylor led a group of 4 from Valley City that scored in double figures. He finished the night with 13 points. Sam Beierle scored 12, Avery Bennefeld 11 and Jared Eggermont 10.

Carter Birrenkott rattled off 22 points for The Packers. Luke Lennon paced him with 18.

GBB: West Fargo 68 vs. Valley City 58

West Fargo’s Chole Pfau scored 16 second half points to help power her team to a 42 point second half and the win.

In the first half, The Hi-Liners lost a 5 point lead and fell behind by 7. They picked up momentum ending the games 1st 18 minutes on a 7-0 run to pull in front 29-26. The Packers responded back with a 7-0 to open the final 18 minutes.

Valley City would trail by a much as 17 before starting a rally, in the final minutes they pulled within 3 possessions but could not close the gap.

Pfau finished with 19 points. Brynn Giesen added 14 and Lauren Diemert 13. West Fargo made a combined 8 3 pointers.

Grace Scherr and Lindsey Noeske each scored 14 for Valley City. Taryn Dieterle had a double double of 12 points and 13 rebounds.
