NEW ROCKFORD, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) Senior Parker Granger hit the go-ahead 3-pointer with about ten seconds left in the game to help the Rockets beat the Cardinals in Class B Boys hoops 64-62. NRS improves to 1-0, Carrington drops to 0-1.

The game was tight throughout, featuring 10 ties, but Carrington led by as many as 10 points earlier in the game. Granger led the Rocket players with 15 points, all 3-pointers. Senior and four year starter Teddy Allmaras added 14, Junior Bo Belquist had 13 and Junior Hunter Thompson had 10 points. The Cardinals were led by Junior Seth Nelson with 20 points, including four 3-pointers, he hit the go ahead three for Carrington with about 30 seconds left in the fourth quarter making the score 62-61 Carrington. Senior Kyle Leapaldt added 18, including four treys and Senior Payton Smith had 10.

Next up for Carrington will be Saturday, December 15th at home against Benson County. NRS will travel to Harvey for the CNDC tourney, December 13th-15th.
