VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The scam that your grandson is in prison is making the rounds once again along with other scam approaches over the telephone in the area.

Valley City Police Lt. Dana Rustebakke said do not fall for these scams, hang up and report call to police.

He also said get ready for the IRS scam as we get closer to the tax season. Again never give out personal bank account information to anyone who is bullying or pressuring you to do so over the phone.

Rustebakke said law enforcement does not issue warrants over the telephone, nor do they ask for money over the phone, if you receive a call like this hang up and call police.
