JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Jamestown Salvation Army has a lot of groundwork to make up if they want to reach their $168,000 goal before the end of the year.

Major Tim Nauta says with roughly one month left in the Red Kettle Campaign, they need a lot more people to step up and ring bells to raise money for the Salvation Army in Stutsman County.

Major Nauta says individuals can ring a bell at one of six locations in Jamestown in time slots of 2 hours. He says at this time, there is roughly 75% of all time slots are open for those to sign up and ring.

Major Nauta says all the money raised will stay in the county to help residents from heating assistance to rent assistance. He says the Salvation Army remains in the “business of helping people.”

Nauta added that residents can challenge their friends, co-workers or even businesses to ring the bell. He says another match has been put forward this week and in order to complete it, they need more volunteers.

To sign up for a shift to ring, contact Major Tim Nauta at 701-252-0290 or go online to registertoring.com.
