ALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com)- Wahpeton will visit The HAC Tuesday night to play Valley City in their season openers.

The doubleheader begins with the girls’ match up. The Hi-Liners are coming off a 10-15 season which saw a trip to The Eastern Dakota Conference Tournament. Six seniors and 2 juniors make up a majority of the roster.

This year’s team also features plenty of height, something coach Jimmy Howard feels will give them an edge in region play

The VCHS Boys were 4-16 in 2017-18, their year ended in an EDC play in game. Just one starter from last year, Avery Bennefeld, returns with 3 seniors back. Sam Beierle is the only one of the seniors to see consistent playing time averaging 4 points and 3 rebounds.

Tip-off for the girls is set for 5:45 with the boys at 7:30. Pregame on KOVC 1490AM/96.3FM starts around 6:30;both game will be video streamed at NewsDakota.com
