JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Kaitlyn and Hailey had a hand in all five goals for Aberdeen as the Cougars defeated Jamestown 5-2 Thursday in girls hockey at Wilson Arena.

Morgan Dean got the scoring going 1:57 into the first period. It was her second goal of the season. Hailey Holland assisted.

Jamestown would tie the game at one with 10:16 to in the period on a power play goal from Alexis Kirkaby. It was her second of the season. Megan Albrecht had the assist.

It would stay that way until Hailey Holland scored her first of two goals 59 seconds into the second period. Sister Kaitlyn would score her first of two, a power play goal, halfway through the period tp make it 3-1.

Kirkaby would score her second of the game with 42.3 seconds left in the second period to make it 3-2. But that would be as close as the Jays would get.

Kaitlyn and Hailey each scored in the third period to make it 5-2. Kaitlyn had two goals and an assist. Hailey had two goals and two assists. Linemate Kensi Eckhoff had two assists for the Cougars who are now 2-0 on the season. Shelby Snow made 15 saves.

Erin Anderson had 37 saves for the Jays who fall to 0-1-1. Jamestown travels to Bismarck to face its second straight state champion as they take on the Blizzard.
