Billie McCullough, age 71, of Valley City, ND, died Monday, November 26th at Memorial Hospital in Marysville, OH. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, December 1st at the First Church of the Nazarene in Valley City. Visitation will be held one hour before the service at the church on Saturday morning. Inurnment will be in Hillside Cemetery, Valley City, ND.
Billie McCullough was born on March 23, 1947 to BR and Mary Louise Underwood in Temple, Texas. She was the eldest of four children. Billie went to grade school and high school in the town of Slaton, Texas, graduating in 1965. She married her high school sweetheart, Gary McCullough, on January 23, 1965 in Slaton, Texas. In 1973, at the age of 25, she and Gary, along with their two daughters, moved to Valley City, ND. Billie and her family have been members of the First Church of The Nazarene since their arrival in Valley City in 1973. She was a fulltime mother and wife to her daughters and husband always putting the interests of her family first. She worked as a sales clerk for numerous years in Valley City beginning at Coast to Coast then CR Anthony’s, Officeland, Ben Franklin’s and Thrifty White Drug. Billie and Gary enjoyed attending car shows together throughout the Midwest in her beloved 1933 Chevy Coupe. Billie enjoyed the car competion and the wonderful people she met. She also enjoyed waterskiing and motorcycling in the summer months.
Billie is survived by her husband of 53 years, Gary; her daughter Tambara Preston (Marvin) of Tower City, ND; her daughter NataSha Bruns (Dain) of Marysville, Ohio; four grandsons, Ethen Preston (Cassie), Eliot Preston, Dalen Bruns and Owen Bruns; and one brother, JoeBob Underwood of Temple, Texas.
Billie was preceded in death by her father, mother, one brother, one sister and one granddaughter, Mariah Preston.
Though her family and friends will miss her deeply she has answered the call of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ to come home to that glorious place He has prepared.
In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorials be addressed to: Operation Christmas Child, Child Evangelism or the Gideon’s Program.
