JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – A daylong effort by the Stutsman County Recount Board found the same results Wednesday as the unofficial vote tally during the November 6th General Election.

The recount was initiated after it was found that the split between candidates Ramone Gumke and Mark McPherson was just 17 votes. The recount board confirmed that Gumke won the seat with a total vote of 3,992 to McPherson’s 3,975. With three seats open during the election, Gumke will join reelected Dennis Ova and newly elected Steven Cichos.

Current member Craig Neys received the fifth most votes and Dale Marks did not see reelection.

All three elected members will take office December 1st.
