VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The turnout for the mid-term election on November 6th produced a record turnout across the U.S.

Barnes County Auditor Beth Didier said the county followed the national trend as more than 5,000 ballots were cast. She said the Barnes County canvasing board concluded their work on Tuesday, November 13th.

Didier said during the 2018 election Barnes County received 3,038 mail-in ballots and set-asides, along with 2,078 in-person ballots. Total ballots 5,116.

She said two years ago during the 2016 Presidential election there were 5,451 ballots cast in Barnes County, of those 3,185 were mail-in ballots and 2,266 in person ballots. Total ballots 5,451.
